Herbert, the 'living miracle' YOU Magazine 10 JULY 1997

MERLE HILL of Strand still finds it incredible to see her husband Herbert (70, pictured right) get out of bed and walk around without his walking stick. She describes him as a "living miracle"

Herbert was diagnosed with cancer of the spine nearly four years ago. He was told he had three month’s to live. Despite the best medical care available his condition worsened. He could no longer move and was bedridden. He endured so much pain he was put on morphine. The radiation treatment made him nauseous and he couldn’t eat.

Four times Merle was summoned to the hospital to say goodbye to her husband because they thought he was dying. Then Merle read in YOU about the wonder cure developed from the African Potato and how it also worked wonders for cancer sufferers. "I immediately clutched at this straw," she says. Her husband's doctors were stunned when she told them to stop the treatment which was making Herbert so ill. "Because his case was hopeless I grabbed the medication and started him on it at once."

Within two months Herbert, who also suffers from Parkinson’s disease, could move again. Today, 10 months later, he walks with ease, his appetite has returned, he sleeps well and looks like a new person.

He still has pain occasionally, but now uses fewer painkillers. And feels more positive about life.

A bone scan showed the cancer had stopped spreading. "His cancer has not been cured but the remedy has definitely given him a new less on life,"says Merle. It prolonged his life and improved the quality of his life"
